Interim Management - Case Study
The subject of this interim management assignment was a restaurant with approximately 30 seats and six luxurious hotel rooms located approximately 25 kilometres from Chur, Switzerland.
The restaurant was founded by a young and ambitious chef in 2004 and, under his visionary leadership, it has quickly risen to 3 Michelin stars, 19 Gault&Millau-points and a number of other national and international accolades.
I had completed a study on the very upscale catering market in Switzerland for the young chef and had thus acquired his trust. Therefore, when his long-time manager resigned in early 2013, he asked me whether I would handle the management of his medium-sized enterprise. The main challenge at the time was that the original organisational structure had long since been surpassed by the business's volume. I accepted the challenge with pleasure and was subsequently responsible for the business's economic and financial success, including its human resources department.
By mid-2014, a suitable business manager had been made out, which allowed me to withdraw.
